Behind the story.......

Imole is named in honour of the late Nigerian singer Mohbad, who was also lovingly known as Imole — a name that means light. Through his music, Mohbad brought light to countless hearts, and though his life was tragically cut short at just 27, his brightness continues to shine.

Not long after his passing, a little chihuahua came into my life — full of warmth, joy, and spirit. I named him Imole to carry that same meaning of light, for he became my own beacon of hope. His presence not only changed my life, but his gentle light has touched everyone he meets.

Imole – Paws & Pearls was written from the heart. A story born out of hope, light, and the belief that even the smallest among us can shine. I wanted to create a book that not only delights children but also stirs something beautiful in parents and grandparents. A story they can share together and remember fondly, long after the last page is turned.

Imole’s journey is about courage, kindness, and never giving up on your dreams, even when you feel different or unseen. It’s a story that reminds us all, young or old, that our light is meant to be shared, and that true friendship and love can be found in the most unexpected places.

I wrote Imole – Paws & Pearls to inspire, to make children believe that who they are is enough, and that their hearts and dreams matter. I also wanted it to be a book that teachers could share in classrooms, sparking conversations about empathy, resilience, and the beauty of individuality.

At its core, this story is a celebration of hope, a gentle reminder that no matter where we come from, we all have a little bit of “Imole” inside us… a light the world needs to see.
